Vijay Fabrication

Vijay Fabrication is at 15, Raj Indl Estate. We’ve got a workshop there where we do all our welding and metal work. It’s a noisy place with sparks flying and the sound of grinders going all day. We wear our masks and gloves, but the heat still gets to you after a while. We make all kinds of metal structures for local projects. People come to us with sketches on scraps of paper, and we try to build what they need. It’s not always perfect the first time, so we adjust and fix until it works for them. We’ve got stacks of iron and steel rods leaning against the walls. The floor is always covered in metal shavings and dust. We try to sweep up at the end of the day, but it never stays clean for long. That’s just the nature of fabrication work. We’ve been at Raj Indl Estate for many years now. We know most of the other guys in the estate. We share tools sometimes or help each other out with big lifts. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary to take messages. If the phone rings, we have to turn off the machines just to hear it. It’s a simple life, working with our hands. We take pride in a solid weld. If you need something built out of metal, you know where to find us. We're usually here from Monday to Saturday.
