Soutj India Cements is located at 324 in Malkhed, and we are right near the railway station. You can hear the trains coming and going all through the day, which sort of sets the rhythm for our work. It’s a handy spot because everyone knows the station, so they never have trouble finding us. We handle a lot of bulk orders and the yard is always full of activity. Sometimes the vibration from the heavy freight trains makes the stacks of bags shift a little, so we have to be careful how we pile them up. Malkhed is a place where people work hard, and we fit right in with that. We have been at this location for quite some time, and the walls of our office are covered in old calendars and notes from years ago. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, what with all the grit and the grease from the transport trucks, but we don't mind the mess. We usually have a few guys helping with the loading, and there is always some banter going on to pass the time. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just a reliable place where people in Malkhed can get their supplies. It’s funny how you get used to the sound of the whistles and the tracks after a while. Most of us live nearby, so the walk to work is short, which is nice when the shifts are long.
