Venkateswara Paddy Transplantations

Venkateswara Paddy Transplantations is situated near the bus stand on Village Dehla Road. It is a very rural spot, which makes sense because our whole business is about getting out into the mud and the water to plant rice. We have our equipment and our small staging area right there where the road starts to head out toward the fields. The bus stand is a major landmark for us, and it is usually where we meet up with our workers in the early morning before heading out to a job site. Paddy transplantation is hard work and it depends entirely on the timing of the rains and the water levels in the fields. We spend our days coordinating where the machines need to go and making sure we have enough hands to get the planting done while the conditions are right. It is a seasonal business, so there are months when we are working until dark and other months when we are just maintaining the machinery and waiting for the next cycle. The office near the road is mostly just a place to store parts and have a tea while we wait for the next crew to arrive. People from the village know us well, and they usually just walk over to the Dehla Road spot if they need to book us for their acreage. It is just plain, hard work.
