Khadial Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us who live and work around Khadial. I’m Madhvinder Singh, and my father is Ram Singh. We use our place in the village as the main spot to meet up. Sangrur is quite a farming hub, so there is always something going on. We got tired of trying to do everything alone, so we figured working together as a producer company made more sense. It’s not a fancy setup. We sit around, talk about the prices of seeds, or how the rain is looking. Sometimes we meet in the afternoons when the sun is too hot to be out in the fields. Sunam is the nearest tehsil, so we head there for official things or to get parts for the tractors. It’s a quiet life mostly. We just grow what we can and try to get a fair deal for it. The kids are growing up and sometimes they help out with the computer work, which is good because that part is a bit confusing for us older folks. We’ve lived in this VPO for generations. Everyone knows everyone here. If someone’s tractor breaks down, we help them out. That’s just the way it goes here in Sangrur. We don't have a big mission statement or any of that. We just want to keep our farms running and make sure our families are taken care of at the end of the year. It's just home for us.
