Our place is on North Street in Vellaiyampalayam. If you’re driving through Sankari in Salem, you might pass right by us at No. 3/318 without noticing. We’re just a local business doing rexim work. It’s a lot of handling local goods and figuring out how to get them to other places. The family has lived in this area for a long time, so it made sense to set up shop here. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people who need us already know where we are. The office is usually a bit of a mess with papers and samples of whatever we are moving that week. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. My brother handles most of the transport stuff and I do the books. It works out okay. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting when the trucks come in. Sankari is a decent place to work from because we are connected to the main roads. We don't do much marketing or anything like that. Word travels fast enough around here if you do what you say you’re going to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. That’s just life here. We just keep moving. It’s not a fancy life but we are proud of the work we do on this street.
