The Residency

We are located at M-46, Membala Nagar in Salem. The traffic outside can get pretty loud during the day, especially since the road is always busy with people going to work. The building itself is just a regular spot where people come to stay when they have things to do in the city. We spend most of our mornings cleaning the rooms and making sure the fans are working right because it gets very hot in Salem. My brother helps out with the registers sometimes when I am busy with the laundry. We have been here for a good number of years now. Most of the people who come through the door are here for some wedding or a quick business trip. We don’t have a big fancy lobby, just a desk and some chairs where you can sit. In the evenings, the street lights come on and the market nearby starts getting crowded. We usually sit outside for a bit when the sun goes down to get some air. The staff here are all local people who have been with us for a while. We know the neighborhood well and where to get the best tea nearby. It is just a simple life running a place like this. We keep our books by hand and try to make sure everyone has what they need without too much fuss. Salem is a fast-growing place, but Membala Nagar still feels like home to us.
