Hotel Kongu

Our place is located at No 7-281/112D on Dalmia Road, which is in the Karuppur area of Salem. We are quite close to the Manipal Hospital, so we get a lot of people staying here who have family members at the hospital. It’s a bit outside the main crush of the city center, which some people seem to like because it’s a little less noisy. Dalmia Road has its own traffic, though, with people coming and going toward Karuppur. We are just a local hotel, nothing fancy or corporate about it. We do our own cleaning and management every day. The building is simple and we try to keep it in good shape, though it shows its age here and there. Working near a hospital means you see a lot of different people, many of them in a hurry or worried about things. We just try to provide a room where they can sleep for a night or two. Salem is a growing place, and we’ve seen more buildings going up around us lately. There isn't any big story about how we started, we just set up shop here on Dalmia Road and kept going. It’s a lot of routine work, checking the linens and making sure the water is running fine. We don't have any big slogans. It is just a place to stay near the hospital. We do our best.
