Sri Raga Swarangal

If you are ever near the New Bus Stand in Swarnapuri, you’ve probably passed by our place at 180, Lakshmi Street. Sri Raga Swarangal has been part of the Salem landscape for a bit now. Being on Lakshmi Street means we get a lot of the noise and energy from the bus stand nearby, which is actually quite nice. It keeps us feeling connected to the city. Our space isn't huge, but it's where we keep all our gear and where we meet up to plan out our schedule. Most of us here have a deep connection to music and local traditions, so this doesn't always feel like a typical job. We spend a lot of time listening to different sounds and figuring out what works for different settings. Salem is a place where people really appreciate their culture, and we try to reflect that in what we do. Sometimes we stay late at the office just talking about new ideas or fixing a piece of equipment that decided to stop working. It’s not a polished corporate office; there are usually wires everywhere and maybe a few tea cups sitting around. We like it that way because it feels real. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to say hello or ask about what we are working on. We don't have a big marketing plan, we just rely on people knowing who we are and what we do around the Swarnapuri area.
