Hotel Jayam Veg & Non Veg

If you are driving along Omalur Main Road in Salem, you will see us right across from Sago Serve in Jagir Ammapalayam. We have been here at number 90 for quite some time now. This place is mostly about the food. We serve both veg and non-veg because that is what people around here want. Some days the kitchen is so busy with the smell of spices that you can smell it from the road. We get a lot of locals who come in for their daily meals and also people who are just passing through Salem. The building is simple and we don't put on any acts. We have tables that have seen a lot of use and a floor that gets swept many times a day. My uncle and I manage the staff and we are usually around the counter or checking the kitchen. We buy our vegetables and meat from the local market early every morning to make sure things are as good as they can be. It is not a quiet place, especially during the lunch rush when everyone is in a hurry. We have a few rooms upstairs too for people who need to crash for the night. It is a basic setup but it works for the people who come here. We don't use fancy machines, just traditional cooking methods that we have used for years. It is hard work but we are used to it.
