Maharaj Singh College

Being out here on Main Road in Saharanpur means we see a lot of the city every single day. The college is at number 9, and if you’ve lived in this part of Saharanpur for a while, you probably know the spot. It’s a busy area, lots of shops and people always rushing to catch a bus or a rickshaw. The building itself has seen better days, maybe, but it has a lot of character. The walls have that old paint that’s seen many summers. We start early when the air is still a bit cool. The students come in through the main gate, most of them looking a bit tired or worried about their next class. Our staff stays busy with the paperwork in the front office, which always seems to have a stack of files that never gets smaller. There’s a particular smell of old paper and chalk dust in the hallways. During the breaks, the noise levels really pick up as everyone heads out to find a snack or just stand in the sun for a bit. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s just a place where people come to get their work done. The 247001 area is the heart of the town, so there is never a quiet moment. We’ve grown used to the horns honking outside while we try to focus on the registers. It’s just how things are at Maharaj Singh. We just open the doors and keep going.
