Islamia Degree College

Islamia Degree College sits right near Indira Park on the Eid-Gah Road here in Deoband. If you know the area, it is quite easy to find since we are just a short walk from the park. Most people around here call it the college near the Eid-Gah. The building is older but it serves the students from all over the Saharanpur district well enough. Usually, things get busy early in the morning when the sun starts coming up over the trees. We have been here for a while now, just doing what needs to be done. Sometimes the road gets dusty when there is a lot of traffic heading towards the park, but inside the gates, it is mostly just the sound of desks moving and students talking between their classes. It is not a very fancy place, just a regular college where local young people come to get their degrees. We keep the registers updated and make sure the classrooms have enough chairs for everyone. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, which is common in this part of Uttar Pradesh, so we just open the windows and carry on. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we walk or take a cycle to work. It is a simple setup on Eid-Gah Road, nothing more and nothing less. We just try to make sure that the building stays open on time every day and that the students have a place to sit and study their books.
