Eden Convent School

Eden Convent School is situated in Kandhala, which is a quiet spot in the Muzaffarnagar district. Life moves at a different pace here compared to the big cities. The school is made up of a few simple buildings where we hold our classes. We have a small yard where the students line up every morning for prayers. It’s a humble place, and we don’t have all the modern gadgets you see in expensive schools. We have blackboards, wooden benches, and teachers who have been with us for years. You can see the fields not too far from the school, and the air feels a bit different than the town center. During the rainy season, the ground gets a bit soft and muddy, so we have to tell the kids to be careful with their shoes. The staff room is always full of notebooks that need grading. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the kids who are doing well or those who are struggling. It’s a very local atmosphere where everyone knows each other. Parents come by to talk about their children’s progress, often staying longer than they intended just to catch up on news. The school bell is an old piece of iron that we hit with a hammer, and you can hear it clear across the nearby houses. It’s just a plain, honest school where we try to get the basics right every single day.
