Panwar dhaba

If you find yourself in Balongi, we are at shop number 337 in the Dashmesh market. It is a busy little area in Mohali. We get a lot of people coming through from Chandigarh too, since it is not a far drive at all. The dhaba is just a basic place where you can sit down and eat without any fuss. The market stays pretty active all day long. We start early to get everything ready for the lunch crowd. There is always something bubbling on the stove. We do not have fancy decorations or anything like that. It is mostly just sturdy tables and the sound of the main market outside. People stop by when they are working nearby or just passing through Balongi. We have seen the market change quite a bit over the years, but we are still here in the same spot. It is dusty sometimes with all the traffic, but that is just part of being in the main market. We make sure the food is ready when people are hungry. Sometimes it is quiet in the mid-afternoon, and we just sit and watch the cars go by on the road. Then it picks up again in the evening. It is a lot of work, but we like being part of the neighborhood. We do not do anything special, just everyday cooking for regular people who want a meal before they head home.
