Shriyanshu Construction is run out of Village Gagari, which is near the Dahu post office in Ormanjhi. It's on the outskirts of Ranchi, and we're officially care of Ramtahal Nayak. The office is basically just a place to meet and talk about building things. We do a lot of work in the Ormanjhi area because that’s where we’re from. Ranchi is growing fast, and the sprawl is reaching out towards us, so there’s always something to build or fix. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for a long time. We aren't some big city firm with shiny cars. We mostly use an old truck to get around and carry our tools. Most of the time, I’m out at a site checking on the concrete or talking to the bricklayers. We get our hands dirty every single day. If you come by the village, you might find us sitting outside the office drinking tea and planning the week's work. It's a simple life. We don't promise anything we can't do. Building houses in Gagari and the surrounding areas keeps us busy enough. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to stop work, or the rain is too heavy to pour cement, but we just wait it out. It’s just how it is when you work outdoors in this part of the country. We try to keep our prices fair for our neighbors. Every new roof we put up feels like a good day's work.
