The office is run by a small group of us, and we keep things pretty low-key. We got into the building business because Hazaribag is always changing, and there’s always something new being put up. Our space on Baba Path isn't very large, but it’s enough for us to meet and plan out our projects. We don't use any of those big marketing slogans. We just talk to people like normal neighbors. Sometimes we’re out on a site all day, and other times we’re just sitting in the office drinking chai and looking at bills. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a steady one. We appreciate the people who come to us with their projects because it keeps us working in the town we like. We try to be as straightforward as possible about what we can do. There’s no point in overcomplicating things. Most of the folks who work here have been in the construction world for a long time. We know which suppliers are reliable and which roads get flooded during the monsoon. That kind of local knowledge is just part of how we operate.
