Little Genius Preschool Roots To Wings

Bariatu Road is always busy, but once you get inside our gates at 194 A 1/ B, things quiet down a bit. This is where Little Genius Preschool Roots To Wings operates. It’s a place for the younger kids in Ranchi to start their day. We have a few rooms set up with desks and plenty of floor space for activities. My day starts early, opening the shutters and checking if the water bottles are filled. The name Roots To Wings is written on the board, but we mostly just call it the school. Children come from all around the Bariatu area. Some arrive in small vans and others come with their grandparents. We spend a lot of time on basic things like counting and drawing. The walls are covered in drawings that aren't perfect but the kids are proud of them. It’s loud during the mid-morning break when everyone wants to be the first one out to play. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common here, but we just keep going with the windows open. We don't have any big corporate backing, it’s just us doing the work every day. By the afternoon, the place is empty and we start sweeping up for the next morning. It is a simple setup for local families who need a place for their kids nearby. We just try to keep a routine that works for everyone.
