If you head down Tagore Hill Road in Ranchi, you will find us near Vidya Vikash School. Boreya Construction is run from Murari Narayan Tiwari’s place. Tagore Hill is a landmark that everyone in this city recognizes, so it is easy to tell people where we are. The office is not very formal. It is more of a practical space where we keep our tools and papers. There is a lot of dust sometimes because of the road work nearby. We get to work around nine and start checking the schedules. Since we are near a school, the mornings are quite loud with buses and parents dropping off children. It gets quieter once the classes start. We handle a lot of different construction tasks from this small base. It is mostly about coordinating with the labor and making sure the materials arrive on time. Ranchi has changed a lot over the years and we have seen many new buildings go up around here. We just play our small part in that. The office has a few wooden desks and some old fans that hum all day. We keep things simple because that is what works for us. Usually, we wrap up by evening unless there is a big deadline. It is just honest work that keeps us busy throughout the week.
