Up here in Ramgarh, the landscape around Chatara is where we do our work. Dhadhraul Farmer Producer Company Limited was put together by local farmers like Deepak Singh and the rest of the neighbors. We aren't a corporate entity with a fancy building. We usually just meet up at the address in 231226 to talk about the harvest. Farming in this area has its own set of problems, from rocky soil to unpredictable water. We decided that being a group was the only way to really keep going. We help each other out with everything. If someone needs an extra hand with the harvest, we show up. If someone finds a better place to get supplies, they tell the rest of us. It’s a very practical way of living. We don't have time for polished language or big promises. We just want to get the work done and have enough left over to keep our farms running. There is a lot of coffee or tea shared while we sit and discuss the price of grain. The work is tiring and the days are long, but we are used to it. We take it one season at a time and try to stay positive even when the weather isn't cooperating. It’s just a group of friends and neighbors trying to make the most of the land we have. We keep our heads down and just do the work.
