Western Engineers

We are located in Aji Vasahat, near the Jay Metal building in Rajkot. This area is full of machine shops and grease, and Western Engineers fits right in. I started this place in a small shed and eventually moved into this current spot at number 10. It’s 10-Aji Vasahat, and the street is always crowded with scooters and delivery vans. We do engineering work, mostly parts and repairs for local factories. It’s noisy and there’s always a drill or a lathe running somewhere in the background. My workers have been with me for years, and they know the machines better than I do sometimes. We don't have a website or a marketing person. Most of our jobs come from people who know us from the neighborhood or other shop owners. We drink a lot of tea while looking at blueprints or old parts that need fixing. Rajkot is famous for this kind of work, so there’s a lot of competition, but we just focus on what’s on our own workbench. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a part if a customer’s machine broke down and they are losing money every hour. It’s not glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps the lights on. It feels good when we can handle most things that come through the door. That’s just life in the industrial estate. We’ve been here since the early days.
