You can find us at 10, Lati Plot. It’s a pretty industrial spot, and the ground is mostly packed dirt and gravel. Swastik Tools & Engineering Works isn't hard to find if you’re looking for the sound of metal being worked. We have a fairly large open space where we keep the heavy gear and the raw materials. It’s not the kind of place you’d wear nice shoes to. We’ve got a lot of tools scattered around, but we have a system for finding what we need. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning, making it bright but also pretty warm. We use a lot of grease and oil, so the floor is always a bit slick in places. We’ve been at this Lati Plot location for a while, and we know the other shop owners nearby. We often trade parts or help each other out when a machine breaks down. It’s a community of makers, really. There’s no big sign or flashing lights, just our name painted on the door. We work through the day, mostly just focused on the engineering tasks at hand. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a specific tool or part, and the whole area gets quiet except for our shop. We don’t have any polished presentations; we just show people what we’ve made on the workbench. It’s straightforward, noisy, and busy, which is exactly how we like it here.
