Shri S K Zobalia Vidyamandir

This is another school located in Chuda, Surendra Nagar. Shri S K Zobalia Vidyamandir is what we call it. We share the same dusty roads and warm weather as the rest of the town. Our building is a bit tucked away, but most people know where to find us. We have a fair amount of students coming in every day from the surrounding areas. The classrooms are filled with the usual wooden benches and blackboards. We don’t really go in for much technology or new-fangled gadgets. We just stick to the basics of reading and writing. The teachers here are mostly locals who have been teaching for a long time. There is a sense of history in the hallways, with old photos of past students on some of the walls. It’s a busy place during the week, with voices echoing through the corridors. We have a small area out back where the kids eat their lunch. It’s usually pretty loud then. We try to keep the place clean, but with so many kids running around, there’s always a bit of a mess to clear up at the end of the day. The town of Chuda is small enough that we see our students even when we are out getting groceries. It makes the whole thing feel more like a community effort than just a job. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the name painted over the main entrance for people to see.
