Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College

We are right here in the hospital compound on Jamnagar Road. It’s always busy because of the patients and the medical students running around. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College isn't a fancy place, just a lot of old buildings where people come to learn how to be doctors. You can see the white coats everywhere. The halls are a bit narrow and the fans hum all day long. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, but inside we just focus on the books and the clinical work. We spend most of our time between the wards and the lecture rooms. It’s a lot of walking back and forth. The canteen has okay tea, and that’s where most people hang out during their short breaks. It’s been here for quite some time now, and the walls show it. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, and the smell of antiseptic is something you just get used to after a week. We have many students from different parts of the state living in the hostels nearby. The mornings start early here, usually before the sun is even fully up, because the rounds start and the hospital never really sleeps anyway. It's just a regular place doing its job every day. People come here with a lot of hope, and the students are just trying their best to keep up with the heavy syllabus. It’s hard work for everyone involved, from the staff to the learners.
