Shri Ram Vijay Piston

We started here on Gondal Road quite a while ago. The address is 13, Vijay Plot. This area is full of workshops and we fit right in. We make pistons for engines. Most days it is loud and greasy. We have been working with metal for a long time now. People come in when they have engine trouble or need specific parts for their machines. My father worked here before me, so it’s been in the family for years. We don't have a big fancy office or a receptionist. It’s just the shop floor and the old machines we’ve maintained. Sometimes it gets really hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get the work done. We handle all sorts of orders. Some are big batches for distributors and some are just for a single tractor or a small car. We try to be helpful. If we can't do a specific job, we usually know someone nearby who can. We know most of our neighbors in the plot. Rajkot is a busy hub for this kind of work and we are glad to be part of it. We use lathes and casting methods that have been around for a long time. It is honest work. The walls are stained with oil and there is metal dust everywhere. We drink tea twice a day outside on the bench. That’s just how it is. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure the parts fit.
