If you’re driving down the Morbi Halvad Road, you’ll see us right across from the Essar Petrol Pump. It’s a convenient spot because we see everyone coming and going for fuel. Mahendranagar Chokdi is always a bit of a mess with traffic, especially when the big lorries are trying to turn around. Our place is basically a hub for ceramic tiles, and there’s always a layer of white dust on everything from the samples to our shoes. We spend a lot of time standing around the yard, talking to the loaders and making sure the crates are stacked right so they don’t break during the trip. It’s physical work and it gets tiring, especially when the weather is humid. We don’t have a big corporate office with fancy carpets; it’s just a practical space where we can sit down, have a drink of water, and get the invoices signed. The phone rings a lot, usually someone asking where their delivery is or telling us they need more stock. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on while watching the cars go by. It’s just how life is here in the industrial part of town. We’ve been at this for a while, and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s about moving tiles from one place to another and making sure the numbers match up at night. It is simple enough.
