Shree Ram Hardware

Plot No 1 is where you will find us, right on the corner of New Parmeshwar Kuwa Vadi Street. Atika area is usually busy, being just off Dhebar Road South. Tools and nuts fill up almost every inch of the shop. Being messy is just part of the trade because we have so much inventory in a small space. Searching for screws or specific nails for people takes up most of my day. Dusty hands are a given by the time lunch rolls around. High shelves require us to use a shaky old ladder that has seen better days. Years ago, this street was much quieter than it is now. Constant activity outside means there is always something to look at. No websites here; we just open the metal shutters and wait for people to stop by. Simple lives are what we lead, and we don't mind the routine. Plastic chairs are brought out when business is slow so we can sit and talk. My son helps out after school sometimes, learning what all the different tools are called. Mechanics drop by for a chat and to pick up whatever supplies they need for their current jobs. Glamour isn't part of the hardware business, but it's steady work that keeps us busy. We've known the people on this street for a long time now.
