Uttam Hardware

We've been running Uttam Hardware for a while now over here at Krishna Complex-II. It's right by the Raj Nagar Chowk, so it gets pretty busy with people coming in and out all day. My father started things off and now I handle most of the daily stuff at the counter. We keep a lot of different things on the shelves, mostly tools and building supplies that local folks need for their home repairs. It's a small shop, number fourteen, but we try to keep it organized so we can find what a customer is looking for quickly. Sometimes the traffic on Nana Mava Road makes it hard for people to park, but they still stop by because they know we usually have that specific screw or hinge they can't find elsewhere. We don't really do anything fancy, just open up early and stay until the evening. The fans in the complex aren't great in the summer, so it gets hot, but we're used to it. Most of our regulars are contractors or just guys living nearby who need a new lock or some paint. We know a lot of the faces around here by name now. It’s a basic business, nothing more. We just sell hardware and try to keep the stock updated so we don't run out of the basics. The shop is tucked into the corner of the complex. We spend a lot of time just sorting through boxes of nails or checking what's low on the shelves.
