Jay Shree Ambe Hardware

Jay Shree Ambe Hardware is situated at Plot No. 22 in Jivraj Park, right near the Falcon area in Vavadi. We opened up here because the neighborhood was growing and there weren't many places to get basic supplies. The shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all kinds of hardware. We have everything from tiny screws and nails to larger tools and plumbing fixtures. It can be hard to find things sometimes, so I’m usually the one climbing the ladder to reach the top shelves. We get a lot of local workers and residents who come in looking for something very specific. I spend a lot of time explaining how different parts work or showing someone which bolt they actually need. The floor is concrete and often has bits of metal or dust on it. It’s a simple operation, mostly just me and one other person helping out. We don't have a computer system for everything; we still do a lot of things by hand and keep our records in big notebooks. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, so it gets pretty warm inside. We usually keep the big shutter open to let the breeze in. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but we have what people need and we’ve been here long enough that most people know where to find us. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the shelves stocked.
