N. D. Tools

Down here on Street No-2 in Maruti Society, things move at their own pace. We are located right near Dsa Silver and just behind the Meldi Mata Temple on Pedak Road. N. D. Tools isn’t a huge place, but we have enough room for the grinders and the tool-making gear we need. Every morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting some air in. It gets pretty hot in here once the machines start spinning. We mostly handle small tool parts and some custom work for guys in the neighborhood. You might miss the entrance if you aren't looking closely, since it’s tucked away in the society. Sometimes the temple bells next door are louder than our drills, which is a nice change of pace. We don't have a big office or a front desk person. Usually, whoever is nearest the door just wipes their hands on a rag and comes to see what you need. We’ve been working with steel and iron for years, so we know how the metal feels under the blade. It’s not always pretty work, and there are metal shavings all over the floor by noon. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of orders on the bench. If someone brings in a broken tool, we take a look and see if it’s worth saving. It’s just how we do things here and how it has been for years.
