Sanjay Casting

Sanjay Casting is located at 3 Sanskar Society, right off National Highway 8-B. We are situated behind Madhuram Society, so it is an easy spot to find if you know the highway well. The work here is mostly about casting metal parts. It is a hot environment because of the furnaces and the molten material we use. You get used to the smell of sand and grease after a while. We have a lot of heavy molds sitting around the shop floor. It is not the kind of place where you want to wear nice clothes because everything ends up covered in dust or soot. We focus on getting the shapes right and making sure the metal cools down properly before we move it. There are several of us who handle the heavy lifting and the pouring. It is physically demanding work, especially in the summer months when the Gujarat heat adds to the heat from the shop. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations in the office area. It is mostly just desks covered in drawings and old order forms. The highway noise is always in the background, with trucks rumbling by at all hours of the day. We just focus on the orders we have for the week and try to stay on schedule. Sometimes a casting does not come out right and we have to melt it down and start over. That is just the job. (252 words)
