Samay Engineering

Our workshop is located at No. 8- A right along the National Highway. It is pretty easy to find since we are near the Swami Narayan Temple in Makansar. Being so close to the highway means there is a constant sound of trucks and cars rushing past our door. We do engineering work here, which mostly involves fixing machines or making specific metal parts for local businesses. The floor of the shop is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, which is just the way an engineering place should look. We have a few old lathes and some welding equipment that get used every single day. We are not a big company with a human resources department or a fancy front office. It is just a small crew of us who know how to handle tools and get things repaired. Some days it gets very hot under the tin roof, but we just keep working through it. We have a small desk where we keep the invoices and a telephone that rings more than it should. We don't have a mission statement or any corporate slogans. We just take the jobs as they come in and try to finish them on time. People usually drop off their broken equipment and pick it up a few days later. It is a straightforward way to earn a living. The temple nearby is a good landmark for people who are coming to visit us for the first time.
