You can find us over at Plot No.10 in GIDC Bhakti Nagar. We are situated quite close to the Bhaktinagar Railway Station, so we hear the trains rattling by at all hours of the day. It’s a busy industrial estate, and the roads can be a bit rough, especially after the rains when the potholes fill up. At Rajkot Engineering Sales Corporation, we deal with a lot of different parts and equipment. The warehouse is basically one big room filled with racks that go all the way to the ceiling. It is always a bit of a hunt to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually know where everything is kept. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains from the years we've been operating here. We have a small counter near the front where we talk to customers and write out the invoices by hand. It’s not a fancy corporate office. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit and a calendar on the wall that is usually a few days behind. We get a lot of local workers coming in looking for specific tools or replacements. The air smells like grease and old metal, which is pretty typical for this area. We just show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the pace of the GIDC life over the years. Most of the time it is just business as usual.
