We have been working out of our shop at Plot No. 152 in the Aji GIDC area for a long time now. Most people around here just call the street Balaji Wafer Street because of the big snack factory nearby. Our workshop is usually filled with the loud sounds of metal turning on our lathes. It gets pretty dusty and the floor is always a bit oily, but that is just how it is when you are making heavy machinery day in and day out. We spend most of our mornings looking over old blueprints and making sure the machines are cutting the steel exactly right. Rajkot has a lot of engineering shops, but we just try to stay focused on our own work here on E-road. My father actually started this business because he had a real knack for how these machines worked, and we have just kept it going. It isn't very fancy work. Our hands are usually covered in grease by ten in the morning. Sometimes the power goes out in this industrial zone and we all just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back on. We don't have a big corporate office or anything, just the main shop floor and a small wooden desk where we keep all the papers. It is a simple life making parts that go into other factories across the state. We see the same tea seller every single afternoon. It is funny how you get used to the smell of hot metal.
