Nilkanth Marble & Mosaic

Out here in Gidc Lodhika, specifically at Metoda, things are always moving. Our place is Plot No. E-4. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect a shiny showroom. It’s mostly just us, the marble, and the mosaic tiles. The roads around here get pretty rough with all the heavy trucks, especially during the rains. We’ve got stacks of stone everywhere. Some days it’s just the sound of the machines and the guys talking. Nilkanth Marble & Mosaic has been part of this industrial zone for a bit. We spend a lot of time organizing the yard because things get messy fast when you’re dealing with stone. If you’re coming from Kalawad Road, it’s a bit of a drive but easy to find once you’re in the GIDC. We mostly just deal with whatever stock comes in that week. Mosaic work takes a bit more patience than just moving big slabs, so we have different areas for that. It gets hot under the tin roof in the afternoons, so we usually take a break for tea when the sun is at its worst. Then it’s back to loading up the tempos. We don’t have any big sales pitches. People just come in, look at the bundles, and decide what they need for their houses. It’s just regular daily work for us and we keep doing it day after day without too much fuss.
