Working at Tanna Crank Tech Pvt. Ltd. here in Rajkot is pretty much what you’d expect from a place that deals with crankshafts and technical parts. Our location at Anand in Marutinagar is right near the Race Course Ring Road, so it’s easy to find but can get quite loud with the traffic. We spend most of our hours looking at measurements and making sure the grinding and machining are done right. It’s a bit of a specialized field, and we have been doing it long enough that the smell of oil and metal is just normal to us now. The building isn’t anything too modern, just a solid place where we get the work done and send things out to the customers. Sometimes the power goes off or a machine acting up slows us down, but that’s just part of running a business in this part of Gujarat. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start, and they know the equipment better than anyone. We don’t really spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. If you walk into our shop, you’ll see some parts waiting to be picked up and someone probably cleaning a lathe. It is a busy routine from Monday to Saturday. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the local news before getting back to the machines. It’s just honest work in a busy city.
