Kishor Engineering Works

Kishor Engineering Works is situated at 13-aji Vasahat, right on the ITI Hostel Road. This is the Bhavnagar Road side of Rajkot. Our workshop is in a row of many other small engineering shops. You can hear the sounds of hammers and drills from every direction here. We have a few old lathe machines and a drilling press that have been with us since my father started the place. It is not a clean environment; there is oil on the floor and metal chips everywhere. We mostly take orders for small engine parts or custom bits for local farmers. We do not have a marketing brochure or a fancy logo on the wall. Usually, there is just a calendar with some pictures of gods and a few hooks for our coats. We spend the day measuring things with calipers and making sure the cuts are straight. In the summer, the tin roof makes the shop feel like an oven, so we drink a lot of water and sit under the tree outside for our lunch. It is a small business, just a few of us working together. We do not try to be anything we are not. We just take the raw iron, put it on the machine, and make whatever the customer asked for on their rough sketch.
