Kharecha Engineering Works

We’re over in Rajkot, specifically at the GIDC Aji Industrial Estate. Our shed is K-1-231/5/A on Road E-2 in Phase 2. It’s a bit of a long address, but it’s easy to find once you’re in the estate. We’ve been doing engineering work here for a long time now. Rajkot is famous for this kind of stuff, and we’re just one of the many shops making parts. Our shed is usually pretty loud with the sounds of lathes and drills running all day. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just the big open doors to let the breeze in. There’s always a layer of iron dust on the windows. We spend our days measuring and cutting metal to whatever specifications are needed. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things over several times. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. We know each other well and we just get on with the tasks. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s when we take a small break to stretch our legs. Aji Industrial Estate is always buzzing with activity, so there's never a dull moment. We don't do much in the way of marketing. People just know where we are and what we can do with a piece of steel. It’s a straightforward life here. We just keep the machines oiled and the tools sharp. That’s how we keep things going. We also have to move the parts out on time.
