Kankai Industries

Our shop, Kankai Industries, is located at K-1/16 in the Lodhika GIDC area of Metoda. It is a very busy part of town with lots of manufacturing happening all around us at all hours. Every morning, the sound of gates opening and truck engines starting fills the dusty air. We do a lot of heavy work here, mostly involving fabrication and the assembly of various metal parts. The workshop is big enough for our machines but it always feels a bit full when we have a large order going through the floor. We wear our heavy work boots and thick shirts because the work is quite rough on your clothes. There’s always dust in the air and the constant clanking of metal hitting metal. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a handful of us who actually know how to run the equipment properly. Lunch is usually a quick break sitting on some wooden crates before getting back to the machines. The sun hits the metal roof in the late afternoon and makes it pretty warm inside, so we keep the big doors wide open for a breeze. We focus on the task at hand and don't worry too much about the small stuff. If someone needs something built, they come talk to us directly, we give them a price, and then we get to work. It is a basic way of doing business that hasn't changed much over the years.
