Atula Printers

Atula Printers is situated on Dhoraji Road, right across from the GEB sub-station. If you walk inside, you’ll immediately smell the ink and hear the steady thumping of the printing presses. It’s a sound we’ve grown used to over the years. We spend our days setting up plates, checking paper weights, and making sure the colors aren't coming out too light or too dark. It’s a lot of manual work, even with the machines doing the heavy lifting. We often have ink under our fingernails that won't come out for days. The floor is usually covered in paper scraps and old test sheets. We do all sorts of small jobs for the people around here, like flyers, bills, and cards. We don’t have a big office staff. It’s just us running the machines and talking to people who walk in with their files on a thumb drive. Sometimes the machines break down or the paper jams, and we have to spend an hour getting our hands greasy to fix it. That’s just how it is with old equipment. We try to get things done on time, but sometimes we get a big rush of orders and have to stay late into the evening. It’s a busy little shop. We don’t do much advertising because the noise of the machines and the location near the sub-station lets everyone know where we are. We just keep printing whatever comes our way.
