Jashmin Engineering Works

The workshop for Jashmin Engineering Works is over at Plot 14 in the Shiv Industrial Estate, just off the Gondal Road Highway. Most days start pretty early because the traffic on Vavadi Road gets a bit much later on in the morning. If you are looking for us, we are situated right before you hit Hotel Krishna Park. Inside the shed, it is mostly the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of the machines running all day long. We have got some grease on the floor and stacks of parts waiting to be finished or picked up. It is not the cleanest place in the world, but that is how engineering shops usually are. The air usually smells like oil and iron. Sometimes the heat gets to be a lot in the afternoon, so we take our breaks near the door where there is a bit of a breeze coming in. People from the other units in Shiv Industrial come by for a chat or to borrow a tool every now and then. We handle whatever jobs come through the door, mostly fixing things or making small parts that folks need for their own local projects. It is steady work. We do not have a fancy front office or anything like that. Just a desk with a lot of papers and some old chairs for visitors. Mostly, it is about getting through the daily list of things to weld or cut. We have been in this part of Vavadi for some time, so we know the neighbors well. It is just a regular place doing regular shop work every day.
