James Engineering Co.

If you are looking for us, you have to head up to the first floor of Durlabh Chambers. We are right on Dhebar Road, which is always busy with people and scooters zooming past. It is an old building, so the stairs can be a bit steep if you are carrying something heavy. Inside James Engineering Co., things are usually a bit cluttered. We have drawings spread out on the desks and bits of metal samples tucked into corners. It is not the kind of place where everything is shiny and put away perfectly. We spend most of our time figuring out how to get things to fit together or fixing stuff that stopped working. The traffic noise from the road downstairs never really stops, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. My father used to say the noise means the city is alive, and I guess he was right. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know the trade well. Sometimes we stay late when a job is proving to be difficult or frustrating. It is mostly just hard work and using our hands to get it done. We do not go in for big meetings or anything like that. We just talk over the desk and get to it. Some days are slow, while others we cannot even find time to eat lunch until it is nearly evening. That is just the way engineering goes.
