J K Machine Tools is located right opposite Gokuldham Society on Gondal Road. This part of town is always full of workshops and people looking for parts. We have been here for a long time now. The shop is filled with different kinds of machine tools, some new and some that have been sitting on the shelves for a while. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles sometimes because we keep a lot of stock. We get guys from the nearby factories coming in all day. Usually, they are looking for a specific bit or a replacement part that broke mid-shift. We don’t do much talking, we just help them find what they need so they can get back to work. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots from the machinery. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny. We keep the tools in bins and on heavy metal racks. Sometimes the power goes out in this area, but we just keep the doors open for the light. It's just me and a couple of helpers most days. We know most of the regulars by their first names. If we don’t have something, we try to tell people where else they might find it on Gondal Road. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around. We just like having the right tools when someone is in a hurry.
