Icon Ceramic Ltd.

Over at Icon Ceramic Ltd., we have been making ceramics for a good while now. Our place is located on the 8-A, N.I.H. in Lalpar, which falls under the Morgi taluka. It’s a dusty part of the world, especially with all the construction and trucks moving around on the highway. We have a fair amount of space here, but it always feels a bit cramped once we start stacking up the finished goods. The machines make a lot of noise throughout the day, so we have to talk pretty loud to hear each other. Most of our staff have been with us for years, so we all know how the place runs. We don't really have a big fancy entrance, just a gate and the main factory area. It gets quite warm near the ovens, especially in the middle of the day, but we manage. We spend a lot of time checking the ceramic pieces, making sure they aren't cracked or chipped before they get packed up. It's a repetitive job in some ways, but there is a certain rhythm to it that I like. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, just trying to make good products that people want to buy for their homes. Being out here in Lalpar means we are part of a big community of makers, which is nice. We just do our bit and try to keep things moving along smoothly every single day.
