If you come down to 11-A, Bhaktinagar Station Plot, you'll hear us before you see us. Harshad Engineering is based right here at Kalpana Cottage, which sounds like a quiet place, but it’s actually full of the sound of metal hitting metal. We’ve been working with our hands for a long time, fixing things and making parts that people need. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there’s always a bit of oil on the rags. We don't have a big corporate office or people in suits. It’s just us in our work shirts, dealing with the lathes and the grinders. Bhaktinagar is a busy hub for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the noise. Sometimes we sit outside by the station plot just to get a bit of fresh air when the shop gets too smoky. We don't do much talking while the machines are running because you can't hear anything anyway. It’s the kind of job where you go home with grease under your fingernails every night. We take on whatever work comes through the door, whether it’s a small repair or something bigger. There’s no big secret to what we do; we just know how the machines work and we put in the hours. It’s been this way for years, and the cottage has seen a lot of hard work over time.
