S. K. Bricks

You can find us at Survey No:12 on the Madurai Road over in Kothainatchiyarpuram. It is a very dry and dusty area, and the sun really beats down on the open yard for most of the year. S. K. Bricks is just a regular local business run by people who live nearby. Big slogans or mission statements aren't our style, so you won't see them on our walls. Mostly, there are just large stacks of bricks and a couple of old sheds for keeping the equipment dry. Our workers arrive very early in the morning to get started before the worst of the afternoon heat hits. The first few hours of every day are spent getting everything organized for the scheduled deliveries. Because the road right outside is usually quite busy with people heading toward Madurai, there is a constant sound of horns. We don't have a receptionist; usually, whoever happens to be standing closest to the front gate talks to the customers. A stray dog hangs around the yard and keeps us company while we work. People come to us from all over this local district because they know we have been at this specific location for many years. Acting bigger or more important than we are is not something we do. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. Getting the work done and paying the bills is the main focus. It is a humble setup, but it belongs to us and we're here every day.
