We’ve been here at 3/165 on Mangammal Salai for quite a while now. Most people around Sokkanathanputhur know the spot on Muhavur Main Road because of all the trucks going in and out. It’s a busy place, especially when the sun is out and the kiln is firing. P P A Bricks is just a group of local people making things out of clay. The yard gets pretty dusty in the summer months. You can see the stacks of bricks from the road. We spend most of our mornings checking the batches and making sure the workers have what they need. It isn’t fancy work, just honest labor under the sun. Sometimes the rain slows us down, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of business. The office is small and tucked away, mostly just for paperwork and tea breaks. Most of our day is spent outside on the main road site. People stop by to ask about prices or just to say hello while they’re passing through. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, but the way we make bricks stays pretty much the same. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it so houses can get built. If you find yourself on the Muhavur road, you'll see the chimney. We just keep our heads down and get the work done day after day. It’s a quiet life in Sokkanathanputhur, just the way we like it. We hope the weather stays dry for the next batch.
