If you come down Sagoni Road in Begumgunj, you’ll find us over in Ward Number 17 in Shyam Nagar. That’s where Siyawas Sahaj Kisan Producer Company Limited is based. We aren't some big operation with a lobby and secretaries. Most of the time, we’re out in the fields or meeting at someone's house to talk about the season. We set this up because we felt like the small farmers around Raisen were getting the short end of the stick. Everything we do is pretty straightforward. We get together to buy what we need for the farms and we try to find the proper way to sell what we grow. It’s about being sahaj—keeping things simple and natural. We have a lot of members now, and it’s good to see people helping each other out. If one of us has a problem with a pest or the soil, someone else usually has an idea of how to fix it. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have each other. Living and working in 464881 means we understand the local land and what it needs. This company is our way of making sure we don't just survive but maybe do a little better than we used to. We're just regular people who know the value of hard work and want to make sure our community stays strong and the farms keep producing.
