Thakurabadha Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us from the Raipur area. We meet up at Prasanta Bhui’s house in Nischintapurdumutore to talk about our crops. It’s not a big corporate office or anything, just a room where we keep our records and sit together. Most of us have been farming for years on our own. We decided that joining up might make buying supplies a bit cheaper. It’s hard work out in the fields every day. Sometimes the rains don't come when they should, and we all worry together. We try to help with the harvesting and finding trucks to take the produce to the local markets. It’s mostly manual labor. Prasanta keeps things organized as best as he can. We don't use big words or have fancy meetings. Usually, we just sit and talk about who needs what for the next season. The soil around here is okay, but you have to know how to treat it. Some days are better than others. We deal with the pests and the heat just like everyone else. If you come looking for us in Raipur, just ask for Prasanta’s place. We’re usually around there or out in the dirt. It’s a simple life we have here, just trying to grow enough to keep going.
