Shyam Steel Industries

The workshop is right at Kapda Market Chowk, along the Pandri Main Road. It is a very busy area with people constantly moving around the market, so there is never a quiet moment. We deal with steel, so you can hear the sound of metal being moved or cut throughout the day. The shop is basically a large open space filled with rods, sheets, and various steel structures. It gets quite hot in here during the summer, but we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the main road. The floor is concrete and usually has some scuff marks from the heavy lifting. We don't have a reception desk or a waiting room; if someone wants to talk, they just find us among the racks of steel. Usually, contractors from the local area stop by to pick up what they need for their current projects. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks, which can be a bit of a struggle in the crowded market traffic. The walls are lined with tools that we have been using for years. It is a bit greasy and loud, but that is just how a steel yard is supposed to be. We have been part of this market for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around the chowk. We just show up every day, handle the steel orders, and try to get everything finished before the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet down.
