It’s quite close to Ring Road, which is handy for when we have to go out to the actual farm sites or the forest areas we look after. Being in Raipur-Raipur, as the address says, means we are right in the middle of everything. We deal with trees and land, which is a slow kind of work. You can’t rush a tree to grow, and we don’t try to. The office is tucked away a bit, but the landmark of Dr. Gupta helps people find the turn. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and talking about soil quality. Shailendra Nagar is a decent place to be based; it's got a bit of history to it. We don't have any shiny signs or anything. It's mostly just us and our equipment and a lot of talk about the weather. Rain is always the big topic here because it dictates everything we do on the farms. When the monsoon hits, the whole office gets a bit hectic. Otherwise, it’s just steady work. We aren't trying to change the world overnight, just trying to keep the forestry side of things moving along properly in our corner of India. Most days it is just us and the paperwork that comes with managing land and trees.
