Gwalior Metals

You can find Gwalior Metals right on Ring Road No.1, just across from the water treatment plant. Being near that plant means we always have a landmark to tell people when they are trying to find us for the first time. The road is always loud with big trucks and buses zooming past at all hours. We deal with a lot of metal here so there is always a bit of a clanging sound in the background. My hands usually have a bit of grease or dust on them by the end of the shift but that is part of the job. We have a large open space where we keep the materials and it can get a bit chilly in the winter months since the doors stay open a lot. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where we keep the logbooks and the phone. The floor is concrete and has some stains from years of work. Sometimes we just stand outside for a minute to get some sun and watch the traffic jam up near the intersection. It’s a lot of physical work and we are usually pretty tired by the time the sun starts to go down. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around talking because there is always something that needs to be moved or sorted. It’s a straightforward business and we just do our part to get things finished.
